Dialogue - Turning Challenges into Opportunities
Statements of law, informative discussions, or even persuasive debate have not served to create the cross-stakeholder shared vision and common understanding that is so necessary in order to develop a plan of action regarding IDEA 2004 requirements. Together with many other national organizations, ASDC is working through the IDEA Partnership to create dialogue among and across stakeholder groups to address the many complex issues related to ensuring that children and youth with disabilities receive a high-quality education. The IDEA Partnership has prepared a variety of Dialogue Guides to support stakeholders in forming dialogue groups. Also available is a Facilitator Handbook that provides suggestions for organizing and convening dialogue activities. This Handbook and the Dialogue Guides are available on the web at:
