Jodee Crace

Jodee Crace has worked as the Early Intervention Coordinator with the Outreach Services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children, Indiana School for the Deaf since 2005. In this role, she oversees the home visit services provided by the Parent Advisors utilizing the SKI-HI Curriculum, provides direct early education services with families utilizing the Family Support Model, trains and consults with early intervention providers, and collaborates with a variety of agencies on best practices.

Jodee Crace earned her Masters of Arts degree in School Guidance Counseling from Gallaudet University (1988). Jodee has been involved in various counseling spectrum as a developmental educator, mental health staff therapist (community based), School Guidance counselor (Deaf School), and as a developmental therapist/Parent Advisor (home-based, family-centered early intervention home visits within Part C agency).

Jodee is involved on various stakeholder committees influencing Deaf Education, Deaf Empowerment, Early Intervention, Deaf-Blind Project, and Deaf-Hearing Partnership. In addition, Jodee has presented at numerous sites relating to mental health, deaf education, early intervention, family dynamics, Deaf-Hearing partnership, and Deaf identity. In addition, Jodee is the President of the American Society for Deaf Children.

Jodee, an alumnus of Indiana School for the Deaf, is the parent of 4 boys – one who is Blind and Hard of Hearing, and three who are Deaf. Her husband, Rusty, is a high school teacher at the Indiana School for the Deaf.

Jodee enjoys her free time reading, walking, and being with her family. In addition, she enjoys group dialogues on various topics.
